Charmax Music Introduction

The reggae music company which make music to lost a life time purchase albums and specific songs from our compilations of great reggae hits and unquie albums.Many may not be familiar with the Charmax Music label but many T.V viewers and radio listeners have seen or heard some of the quality music coming from this company.

Recent chart topping single by female DJ Ruffian (save the juvenile) is one such songthat was a hit on radio charts as well as video chart. Charmax Music founded by pioneering, cultural artist Max Romeo and his wife Charm, have been operating from their studio and office in Treadways, Linstead St. Catherine, producing many of the big names in the business as well as presenting fresh, new positive acts. Their recent success with Ruffian (save the juvenile) is the labels first number one hit and their present releases will definitely guarantee the label more success. Other new acts releases at present include Sophia Squire with her self pending “Ra tat a tat” which is enjoying good radio station on many of our top radio stations; there is also Jallanzo with “The Youths Dem Mad Again” and My Kidz with “singing the blues.” My Kidz being the two youngest sons and youngest daughter of Max Romeo, there is also “War Inna Babylon” a remix of one of Max biggest hits in Combination with Ruffian.

The label just recently finished a compilation LP and CD that features; Jimmy Riley, Ruffian, Max Romeo, Jigsy King, Powerman and Jallanzo, and it has their presence felt across Europe through Media com and Charmax U.K who handles their overseas business for booking and distribution. Geared towards roots and culture music they have an impressive and valuable catalog of music that is much in demand around the world. The catalog is dominated by Max Romeo, him having 30 solo LP with appearances by some of the biggest name in popular music, these include; U Roy, Gregory Isaacs, Carl Dawkins  

He is also featured on Jay Z’s “Black Album” with a sample of “I chase the devil” in the single “Lucifer.” Max Romeo’s music is also featured in the movie “Shoot Em Up” which includes his explicit single “I want to play with your Pu**y” and “I Chase the devil” in Grand theft Auto San Andreas.


Max Romeo’s world influence in music has opened up the door for his roster of artists and his preparing them for the big international stage. Singer Jallanzo is an important part of the set up as he is also the engineer, creator of all the Rhythms as he plays all instruments and the person in charge of this important area. With Max touring six to seven months per year, much of the production is left to Jallanzo with Max having the final input when he comes from tour. Jallanzo genius can be heard on the quality rhythm that he created for the roster of artists. His writing and production skills is refreshing on the track “We need more love” by Ruminal, Max’s two kids who uses this name when they are not singing with their sister Azana in the group My Kidz. Max having enjoyed superstar status across Europe for years where he performs for sold out audiences and have sold millions of records including his recording breaking, million dollar seller “Wet Dream” is now preparing his new acts for the international circuit. Sophia squire has enjoyed and benefited from the many world tours with Max as one of his backing vocals
