Son of Max Romeo
It’s always refreshing when you hear sweet music; sweet music with a different, music that makes you feel proud of your music heritage and feel assured that the future of our music will be bright and positive. This describes the feeling when listening to Rominal the two youngest sons of Reggae superstar Max Romeo, who are two extremely musically gifted youngsters. Their entry in the music started with their feeling of a sense of sympathy for the poor. As while driven with their parent one day and hearing their parents discussing and article about poor people that their parents just read in the news paper and stared humming the words (Singing the Blues). When they got home they along with their sister Azana wrote the rest of the lyrics for the song. They along with Azana began practicing and soon approached their father and told him they had a song they want to record. Max then turn to (engineer) Jallanzo and told him to play the rhythm so he could hear what they had, the result (Singing the Blues) was record and release under the name My Kidz. The song got average air play by the top radio station but it signals the birth of another musical dynasty. Since then Romario age 12 and Ronaldo age 10 have been writing and performing all over St. Catherine at school function, parties, and wedding with their sound system Kill Bill International Romario as the selector and ronaldo as D.J gaining valuable experience at such a young age can only bear good fruits for the future of our music. At St. Helens Preparatory School in Linstead where they attend they are treated like Royalty by Teachers and fellow student alike as their talent has totally captivated the whole community who has become ardent fans. Although they do record as My Kidz when they record with sister Azana, they are more geared towards the duo as they claim Azana is too stage freight so they will continue doing their thing until she is ready as they both say she has a pretty voice. Their first record as Rominal was the track (Baby Girl) which they wrote showcasing their writing ability. This track has been getting a lot of exposure across Europe since its release playing on major Radio stations B.B.C, Omega and R.J.R London, also attracting interest in Japan and Israel where it is also being played. At present (3) three major recording company have shown interest in signing them. The best deal is being sought by Max as he is aware they are still very young and needs more nurturing. Listening to their tracks ( We Need More Love) written by Jallanzo you get caught up in the message through the superb delivery as the vibrancy which they deliver the lyrics makes you stop and listen. With the popularity of their recordings getting major exposure across Europe, Italy, Switzerland, Japan and Spain; while gaining much more exposure at the dancehall level, their future definitely looks prosperous. In June a major Japan T.V station will be in the island doing a documentary on them. Max is preparing to take them on the road in summer for their first major show. Mean while they will continue working with Jallanzo, Max and the Charmax crew fine tuning their craft, as they continue writing, recording and playing the Kill Bill International Sound System for locals.
